QuiBids Online Profiles – Livestream
The last post focused on QuiBids Crunchbase. Today, let’s take a look at the QuiBids Livestream profile to see what they’re doing and what their plans may be for this outlet going forward.
As we know, Livestream is a market leader for live event coverage. To date, QuiBids has not had very many live coverage events. However, knowing the industry giant, there’s sure to be some live event coverage and additional videos to come out soon! In fact, rumor has it, an event may be coming up the end of July…
As of today, QuiBids has only live hosted its International Launch event back in July of 2011. PennyBurners was in attendance and conducted a live interview with QuiBids CEO, Matt Beckham. It was a great interview for the industry and the plans QuiBids has in the near future. As far as the international launch event goes – great success, not to mention some celebratory dancing at the end … very entertaining.
Anyway, their current livestream features a loop of their QuiBids commercial and the pre-launch event teaser videos. So in the event you missed the teaser videos, you’re still able to view them here. Although this was the only live event to date, it’s assured QuiBids will be conducting additional live coverage. There’s the rumored event end of July, but what else?
What do you think? Would you like to see more live coverage events from QuiBids? What kinds of live events would you like to see – interviews, actual events, charitable activities, executive Q&A? Let us know.
QuiBids Online Profiles: Crunchbase
Crunchbase is known for a large database of tech companies, people and even investors that anyone can edit. It’s another directory started by TechCrunch, a leading tech media outlet. Today, let’s look at QuiBids online profile in Crunchbase.
QuiBids fits quite perfectly in this directory since it has fast become the world’s leading online entertainment retail auction site. It started with the original five executives and has now blossomed to over 150 employees and operating in four countries. Taking note that Crunchbase profiles can be edited, QuiBids’ will certainly be updated soon to reflect the most current QuiBids reviews and features. Its mission is the same, “to redefine shopping by providing the best deals possible for its customers with a unique, fun and exciting online shopping experience,” but today, its product offers so much more than what it did in the beginning!
Gamification is the latest component QuiBids interjects in its auctions. Gamification in the form of Badges or Achievements, interactive maps, Games and so much more will shape where QuiBids is going in regards to the ‘entertainment shopping’ industry. Be sure to check the QuiBids Crunchbase periodically.
Taking a look at the competitors listed, Swoopo and Big Deal in particular have both exited the industry, leaving the few already listed. There are other similar operating auction sites in the space, but QuiBids still maintains around 80% of the market share.
Next up, the QuiBids’ Livestream profile. What will their plans be for this social outlet in the near future?
QuiBids Eliminates Transaction Fee on Bid Voucher Auctions
QuiBids has always strived to be as competitive as possible with its products and bidding structure. Even so, over time, there were customers who complained about the transaction fee that was charged on bid vouchers; probably for good reason, because who would want to pay an extra buck or two for an intangible item? Because of this, some consumers would claim “QuiBids is a scam,” but that’s far from the truth. It’s assured that QuiBids is not a scam. Sites built around gamification thrive on intangible goods all the time, but that’s a totally different topic and one for another post.
Back to the transaction fees on bid vouchers… One thing to keep in mind is that there’s always the other side to the story as to why that transaction fee was implemented in the first place. QuiBids initially had to charge the fee because they couldn’t process a transaction of less than $.50.
In continued efforts to better their product and customer experience, they have eliminated the transaction fee on bid vouchers! Even though this doesn’t seem like a monumental update, it’s a big step for QuiBids to ensure their customers satisfaction. After all, they are the leader in their industry!
What does this actually mean for QuiBids’ customers? There is now the possibility for a customer to win a limit buster or bid voucher for a final close price of less than $0.50. When this happens, the customer will see a popup when they go to complete their order. They will owe nothing and the bids or limit buster order can be completed with no additional financial transaction.
As it’s always said, Happy Bidding!

QuiBids Buy Now Deals
As the world’s leading entertainment retail auction site and the success of their members through stories featured in the QuiBidder of the Week one can only imagine that QuiBids’ Live Auctions are in high demand.
Although bidding on live auctions can be fun and interactive sometimes people just desire the Buy Now. QuiBids’ Buy Now feature allows members to purchase an auction item minus the cost of bids they initially put into that auction if they chose not to pursue bidding on the item. This feature assures no ever has to walk away empty-handed! Or should the auction go longer than what customers want to spend time on they can utilize that feature to get the item at a competitive retail value. That’s always been one particular feature that separated QuiBids from its competitors. Well, QuiBids has out done themselves for those impatient members and has introduced the QuiBids Buy Now Deals, also known as QuiBids Deals. This new feature debuted April 26, 2012 where QuiBids offered members the Garmin nuvi GOS system discounted at 67%!
QuiBids Deals is a weekly program offering QuiBids’ customers the opportunity to skip auctions and buy the brand-new items at discounts as low as 75% off retail value. What makes the Deals feature different from the Buy Now feature? With Deals, members do not have to start bidding at all and Deal items will be featured, weekly instead of on each individual auction.
This new feature also serves as a rewards program for their members. Only registered users are allowed to participate and take advantage of the savings so join now on QuiBids!!
Global Auctions on QuiBids
Global Auctions have been implemented on QuiBids since April 24, 2012. This is a new feature in its auctions allowing those interested, to participate in auctions with individuals from other markets. When a customer enters the auction page for a particular item, they are able to see if that auction is a Global Auction if the Auction ID bar is marked with a globe icon:
Can you imagine QLive now?! The entertainment’s just getting better!
Now, the option is left up to the customer as no one has to participate in these Global Auctions. Global Auctions came about as a way to offer more auctions and more product variety across all markets. Since QuiBids launched back in October of 2009, and upon it going international back in July of 2011, each market had its own pool of auctions. With this said, some of QuiBids vendors don’t distribute worldwide, therefore the products offered in Global Auctions may not be the exact same. We will offer similar but distinct prizes in different countries (e.g. a $10 Target gift card in the US may read as a $9.65 Amazon gift card in Australia).
In working with its product suppliers, the ability to share auctions across all markets, essentially enables QuiBids to allow just that, more product variety. And to reassure those bidding buffs, due to the increase in the number of auctions, competition should not increase but rather remain the same.

Reviews on the Latest Badges
Since the launch of QuiBids Achievements, also known as Badges, the site continues to develop and deploy new badges. It’s yet another way QuiBids implements gamification and entertainment into its service. The QuiBids Crunchbase profile provides another avenue for an overview of what QuiBids offers.
Back to badges, some of the more recent badges include: 250th Bid Badge and the 750th Bid Badge.
250th Bid Badge:
This badge launched around mid April. If you place up to 250 bids on QuiBids, you’ll earn this highly sought-after badge!
Be sure to check out all the information on the 250th Bid Badge.
750th Bid Badge:
This was released on April 30th. Should you place up to 750 bid on QuiBids, you’ll earn this coveted gem.
Be sure to check out all information on the 750th Bid Badge.
QuiBids offers these Bid Badges in increments of 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000. Each one gives a certain number of free bids, therefore, more opportunities to bid on great products and experience the fun at QuiBids! These badges are coded retroactively in the sense that if a user places a bid and they have already gone over the bid threshold, they will be awarded the badge. Now that’s a pretty sweet deal in itself!
QuiBids is fun and exciting and appreciates its customers. Badges is just one way to offer rewards to its customers for their support and hopefully, adds another fun element to participating on the site.
Keep up with QuiBids via their Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social profiles.

Both Sides to the Story – The BBB Report Update
Last week, QuiBids posted a review of the ways it’s striving to be the model in its industry. One of the ways it continues excellence is by operating ethically and being as transparent as possible to consumers. The Better Business Bureaus has always stood for Trust and has over the years, implemented a very thorough and fair reporting system available for the public.
Recently, The Council of Better Business Bureaus issued updates to its reports and the complaints filed – having started April 2, 2012, those complaints into the BBB (that have been closed) may now contain actual communications between both parties: the filer and the company representative. QuiBids is pleased to see this positive change and hopes it will help to explain its business model to consumers to assure that QuiBids is not a scam.
A note from the BBB serving Central Oklahoma simply states that for businesses, it gives the opportunity to share their side of the story. And that’s precisely what it’ll do – give those businesses a voice and the full side to every issue.
Some FAQs regarding the update:
What complaints may be published?
Any valid complaint that has been filed after it has gone through the full dispute process and has been closed. Therefore, complaints that are not fully processed, nor will ‘fake complaints’ (those obviously wrong-minded, obscure and profanity based) be posted.
Will every single complaint ever filed be posted?
The simple answer, no. The BBB tries to be as fair as possible concerning the threshold of complaints. Due to the sheer number of businesses and complaints across the nation, it simply isn’t feasible for every complaint to be posted.
Who is able to file the complaints?
Complaint content from both Accredited Businesses and non-members may appear.
Does just the complaint appear?
No, as mentioned above, communications from both parties will be displayed.
Will confidential information be posted?
No. The BBB staff manually reviews and redacts any and all personal information from complaint communications for privacy reasons.
QuiBids looks forward to the change and appreciates everything the BBB does to ensure fairness and trust within businesses across every industry, especially the entertainment retail auction industry!

QuiBids’ Reviews – The model leader in entertainment shopping
Entertainment shopping sites have been around for quite some time now… OK, since around 2005 at the earliest, so it’s a relatively new industry but one that has great potential for growth! Why? The demand is there and people love to be entertained and shop for amazing deals!
Since the beginning of entertainment shopping’, there have been some bad apples that spoiled it for the top players in the field, therefore giving those legitimate sites an upward battle to fight. QuiBids knew in order to be the leader in the industry, it would need to look for ways to verify its business practices and to assure its customers it’s a safe, fun and trustworthy site and that there were adequate QuiBids reviews for those to brush up on.
To start, QuiBids became accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in September of 2010. The BBB stands for trust and it has quite a list of values and criteria for accredited businesses to adhere to:
QuiBids takes all customer inquiries seriously, therefore answers all tickets as soon as possible to resolve whatever the issue may be. QuiBids currently receives a rating of an A- and will continue to operate effectively and efficiently to keep this rating. QuiBids’ goal is to receive an A+.

In 2011, QuiBids subjected itself to a third party audit conducted by Grant Thornton. Grant Thornton specializes in auditing, management consulting, corporate finance, risk management and information technology. QuiBids will have the audit done on an annual basis. Last year’s Grant Thornton audit portrayed their assertions of QuiBids’ operations:
- QuiBids maintains effective controls to provide reasonable assurance that bids are placed by bona fide user and does not manipulate the bidding process to inflate the bid price or affect who wins the auctions (no use of bots, shill bidding or bidding by employees).
- QuiBids maintains effective controls to provide reasonable assurance that winning auctions and “Buy Now” order are fulfilled (i.e. shipped).
QuiBids management provides specific criteria indicating how they met these assertions.
Read the full QuiBids Grant Thornton audit.
All this to say, it’s easy to see the strides QuiBids takes to be the leader in the entertainment shopping space and that QuiBids is not a scam.
QuiBids Reviews of Entertainment
The very first post on this site talked about QuiBids being an entertainment retail auction site. Since its initial launch in 2009, QuiBids has come a LONG way! Not just does it provide exceptional products that can be obtained at sweet prices, but it offers an overall experience of FUN while shopping. Because of these insanely low prices for products that auction off every day, some have said it’s “too good to be true” or that “QuiBids is a Scam.” QuiBids can assure you that it isn’t too good to be true and that QuiBids is not a scam.
The overall value proposition of QuiBids is FUN! If you’re in the market for a particular product, try QuiBids and should you come out losing an auction, purchase the product at retail by utilizing the Buy Now feature. Throughout that competitive shopping time, you will have experienced a new, exciting and unique way to shop! While you were shopping and/or bidding, did you check out where your competition was from (QLive), did you play a QuiBids Game, and/or did you obtain one of QuiBids’ Achievements?!
